But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. Micah 7:7

When you pray, do you pray expectantly? Are you watching closely to see how God answers your prayers? Are you learning more of His will through His answers to your prayers? Do you know how He has answered every prayer? Do you remember to thank Him for answering every prayer? How many prayers havenít you seen answered yet? Could you share a testimony of how God has answered your prayers in the last year? Month? Week? Do you keep a journal to record His answers and remind you of His faithfulness?

As I read the Old Testament, I am amazed how often it talks about David praying. David said, In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.1 Perhaps that is the reason God blessed David so richly. Perhaps that is why God said, 'I HAVE FOUND DAVID the son of Jesse, A MAN AFTER MY HEART, who will do all My will.'2

Prayer is about doing Godís will! In the model prayer, Jesus teaches us to pray ďThy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.Ē When we pray according to the will of God, we can expect Him to give us what we ask. As we see Him answer, we can discern more and more what is and what is not His will. Again David says, But as for me, my prayer is to You, O LORD, at an acceptable time; O God, in the greatness of Your lovingkindness, Answer me with Your saving truth.3 God answers us with truth.

Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits--who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.4 Godís blessings are so great. We need to watch and see how God is blessing us, how God is answering our prayer. We need to remember His answers and we need to remember to give Him thanks.

I will watch expectantly for the LORD; My God will hear me.5 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits;6
