"Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.          Luke 2:10,11

 

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. God's desire is that we know the joy and peace that Christ knew amid all the struggles and trials.

Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come and has redeemed his people. He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago), salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us--to show mercy to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant, the oath he swore to our father Abraham: to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fear in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.

And you, my child (John the Baptist), will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.

Jesus himself said to them, Peace be with you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Again Jesus said, Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you. You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice. Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. And the God of peace will be with you.

The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.

And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit. For the kingdom of God is righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
